Our first wedding anniversary

So I've decided, since we never had a proper honeymoon, we must make the most of our anniversaries.

I booked us into a 5 star hotel and spa. It was amazing getting 5 star treatment. I was however a little disappointed that we did not get the most luxury room that we expected and paid for. It wasn't completely private and the pool was about a meter diameter. The size wasn't too much of a problem, it was the fact that is wasn't clean and warm. The underfloor heating wasn't working either. We decided that we won't complain, since we are only spending one night there and want to make the most of it despite the problems. And believe me, that wasn't all of it.

We went to the spa for our massages, that was great. Loved it. We had a nice private lunch on the balcony and then went to have a dip in the flotation pool. Lounged around and just be completely relaxed. The outdoor jacuzzi didn't work. That was our first disappointment when we got there. We then went down to reception to get our luggage to take to our room. We didn't have to walk anywhere. There were golf carts everywhere ready to take you wherever. We thought we could enjoy the pool, but as mentioned before, it wasn't swimmable. So just spend some time in the room, watching TV etc. ;o)

This is what we expected as advertised on their website and not what we got.

Dinner was awesome. Never in my life had such amazing food. It was incredible. I thought that I wouldn't be able to eat average food ever again. I still struggle. I can so get used to being treated like that. Dying to go again, just won't be the same place again. We were disappointed too many times in a couple of things.

The next day we got up and went down to go and have breakfast. Oh my word, that was breakfast like I've never seen in my life before. Everything you could think of was available to us on a buffet. I wanted to have a bit of everything, but couldn't fit it all in. After breakfast we went down to our room just to find our self looked out. We wasted an hour trying to get back into our room. That after we figured out what really was wrong with the door and that they need a manual key to open it, but no, they didn't think we knew what we were talking about, so had to try every other alternative. Well, in the end we were right. We were going to stay a bit longer and have lunch, but that just spoiled everything and we decided to just go home. So that was our first anniversary. Even though there were so many things going wrong, we still had a ball and will definitely do 5 star again.
